Submersible Photosynthetically Active Radiation Deep Water Sensor
Main products include water temperature, water level, conductivity, PH/ORP, turbidity, dissolved oxygen, underwater photosynthetically active radiation, groundwater flow field, oil in water, ammonia nitrogen in water, underwater video, and disease-causing microorganisms sensors.
Measuring photosynthetically active radiation (PAR) in underwater environments; the measured signal is the sum of PAR from all angles within the hemisphere. It can operate in air (keeping the sensor dry) or underwater at depths up to 560 meters. The sensor is cosine-corrected, and the measurement result is photosynthetic photon flux density (PPFD)
Working Principle
It uses a silicon photodiode and a glass optical filter with a uniformly sensitive response between 400-700nm, which is the main wavelength range utilized by underwater plants and algae. The filter effectively blocks light above 700nm, which is crucial for studying underwater illumination because underwater infrared radiation is high relative to visible light radiation.
